Day 17

Yes, I did go rock climbing.  It was different then I expected.  In the US they put you in a halter with a rope and their is a guide holding on to your rope so you do not fall.  Here the walls were about 20 ft high and they put mattresses underneath in case you fell.  I climbed up as far as I was willing to fall.  Which is to say, not far.  But hey I proved I could grasp on and climb up a bit.

Also was one horizontal wall that we all hung from upside down more or less.  After that bit of fun they put up a rope for tight rope walking.  It was only about two feet above ground.  After they set it up it immediately fell to the ground.  Not a good sign.  But they out it back up and a number of people got on, fell off, and bounced around on the rope before I decided to give it a go.  Yes, well I got on it.  No need to say how far I went it is not worth mentioning.  But I got on it.

Walked home, picked up laundry, and dinner.  Tonight we welcomed a new student to the house.  Not your traditional student.  He actually works for an international pharmaceutical company and is here for work in the morning and classes in the afternoon. He is from Germany, 35 years old.

Pretty well recovered from my bad stomach and finally enjoying the food again.  For lunch I had a sandwich they call a triple.  It actually comes in a variety of flavors.  Mine today was a slice of white bread, smoked salmon, capers, another slice of bread, a layer of egg salad, then white bread with the crust cut off.  Hence the name triple.  It was very delicious on it's on I think or could be it was the first solid food I could enjoy.
